I've yet to encounter the Arctic Monkeys. I think I'll probably hear them next time I'm working somewhere where they play Virgin Radio, and when that happens I'll probably hear them about four times a day.
Despite having not heard them however, the 'hype machine' ensures I'm constantly reminded of their existence.
Actually I left my iTunes on when I went out the other day and it played through all 11 of the Analord series, (37 tracks) which probably weighed the stats somewhat in its favour.
As my tube train pulled up at Green Park this morning and I saw the poster out of the window (the half-open eyes one without the cigarette) I recalled the line “I might even puke” and couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
The geezer on the poster is actually one of their mates, not any of them from the band. But it stills goes toward creating an image of a band you would readily slap if you met them in the street!
...and i can't stand the music...it gets played in the studio every FUCKING day!!!!!!!
"Zeno Cosini said... He does look like a fucking knob on the posters. He might as well have a caption underneath him that says "I take smack just like Pete Doherty, honest, so please buy my record. There's no guessing what I'll do next. I might even puke! Watch out!"
its actually not the singer from the band on the album cover mate, its just some random guy having a smoke!
I reckon we should all get together and have an actual fight about this. Today, midday, I'll meet you all at the bottom of the steps to the National Gallery in Trafalgar Square. Bring knives, bats, chains... no guns.

Brilliant. Best comment ever.
I'm quite fond of Manchester but that doesn't mean I like Simply Red.
