India blocks blogs

According to Boing Boing, the Indian government has told ISPs in India to block a number of domains including *.blogspot.com. If this is true then it certainly represents a step in the wrong direction.

At the time of writing this, it's not clear why they have done it. Maybe they don't like people having access to independent news and opinions?

It's a ridiculous and naive response, and it won't ultimately work - it's like trying to plug a dam with your finger. Information always finds its own level.
