Information Overload

No more Web 2.0 / social networking / community websites please. It's getting silly now. And besides, my toolbar is full.

Let's get back to monolithic, static Flash websites with long intros, pale grey pixel fonts made with GIFs, on a slightly paler grey background. And title bars [ :::::::::: that l00k l1ke th1s :::::::::: ]

QR Code

QR code

Thanks to Eduardo for the blog post about this.

This is the QR code of my photoblog's URL. It's essentially a 2D barcode for encoding information. You can read QR codes using your cameraphone with The Kaywa Reader.

new toy

Canon Speedlite 580EX
new toy, originally uploaded by gridrunner.

I'm taking some press shots for a dance music producer on Saturday, which seemed the perfect excuse to get something I'd been thinking of buying for a while: a proper flash gun.

I've just spent a couple of hours going through the manual and trying a few things out. The conclusion: it's absolutely fantastic.

Canon make some very clever stuff.

Did Sony fire its creative director?

I know this isn't particularly exclusive but – with all the PS3 hype going on – is it just me who thinks the Playstation 3 is rather ugly? And what were they thinking using that typeface? It's the one from the Spiderman logo! How incredibly cheap of them to have not created their own logo face.

Like most of their products, the PS2 and PSP were so on the money, but in my opinion this is awful. George Foreman Grill anyone?
